Scott Batson sent an email out on 12/15/25 with a video to vaguely discuss the LINEMAN Progression Program changes and the Company's plan to implement changes next year, starting in APRIL 2026.
NO CHANGES to the Progression Steps/Classifications, to include PAY or LONE WORKER status, will occur without a vote!
The Company will start "Regional Road Shows" in January 2026 to disseminate more details pertaining to the changes in April.
The only changes for Local 962 are to the Phase Schools and curriculum. The Company is rolling out 5 Phase schools and new PSRs.
The Company wants 962 to agree to a change in the Progression Program (Steps, Pay, etc.) but 962 has said; "No, not until negotiations this fall."
Some key take-ways for now:
- Your Classification/Pay will NOT change.
- Your Lone Worker Status will NOT change.
- You may go to additional training when the Phase Schools are modified, but this will NOT keep you from progressing in the current program/pay.
- Example: An LA4/4 testing out may be offered the option to go to the Phase 5 school for experience, but may not be held back from testing out to JL.
- You may have to complete new PSRs, but anything documented on a prior PSR will be transferred over to the new PSR.
If you believe your Supervisor/Director/VP is not following the current Progression Program, to include pulling current Lone Worker status away from qualified apprentices, the Local needs to know ASAP!
